Vista and Embird problem with pictures showing up in Explorer

After installing Embird on my Vista laptop, I clicked on “options” and I made sure I selected all the formats in the lower window so I could have pictures of my designs show up when looking at them in the explorer.

I opened the “explorer” and selected a folder of designs.

I “right clicked” on HUS design and made sure that it opened with my 4D Embroidery program. If it said Embird or something else, then I clicked on “change” and found the correct program and clicked on it and clicked on OK. I did that for all the designs formats I had. Most of mine were HUS, VIP or VP3.

You may have to click on “browse” to find the correct program. People with the Pro should look for 4D Embroidery Extra, not 4D Embroidery.

I had followed Embird’s instructions about making sure that I chose “view” and “medium or large icons”, but the pictures still would not show up.

Then I finally came across the answer to the problem.

With the “explorer” open, I clicked on “tools, folder options, view“, and I unchecked “always show icons, never thumbnails” and clicked on OK.

Then I clicked on one of my folders of designs and clicked on “view” and chose the “medium icons”.

Then I clicked on “tools, folder options, view” and I clicked on “apply to all folders”.

Now, all of my designs formats show as pictures in the explorer.
