Viking 1+ bobbin winder problem and fix

If you wind a bobbin too fast or use the lingerie bobbin thread which stretches and overfills the bobbin, you may not be able to pull the bobbin off.  Please don't keep pulling on it.

Instead, unwind as much as you need to until the bobbin comes off. What happened is that the thread heated up and stretched out and once it cooled down, it expanded the bobbin because too much was on it and the bobbin warped. Throw the bobbin away.

But, if you've pulled it off and the black washer type thing comes off the spindle too, it must be replaced or the machine will not sew because it thinks a bobbin is still on the spindle.

Look at the little black thingy and you will notice a little notch on the narrow end of it. Notice that the spindle has a little protrusion on the side facing the back of the machine.

The widest part goes over the spindle first and try to align that notch on thingy with the protrusion on the spindle. Then push it back in. It may take a little maneuvering, but it will go on.
