Rolled Hem for the DSE using the C foot (buttonhole foot)
Check the sewing advisor and make sure you have woven medium.
I found that I had to make different settings for the rolled hem
on the DSE
than what I had done for the Designer 1 and the Viking 1+ or any other
machine.
Use the same thread in top and bottom. If you have very fine fabric,
use the
70 or 75 needle.
I spray starch and iron the fabric and make sure I use the rotary
cutter and
ruler to have a nice straight edge.
Attach the C foot and touch A29.
Change the stitch length to .8
Change the stitch width to 5.0
Touch the "set menu" and change the tension to 3.6 (YOUR
machine may need a different tension)
Lay the straight edge of the fabric under the right side of the
foot where
the groove is. As the stitch goes to the right, it will go off the fabric
and cause the fabric to roll into that groove.
Hold the thread tails and start sewing. Just keep that fabric
edge against
that groove in the foot.
