Quick Fonts

Quick Fonts was included with the DSE machine on the CD called “3D Organizer, 3D Quick Fonts and DSE Communication.

To find Quick Fonts, you have to open 3D Organizer and click on the arrow next to "accessories" and you will see Quick Fonts there.

This Quick Fonts lets us create fonts from true type fonts on our computer and then send the fonts to the DSE and they are added to the embroidery fonts that were on the machine when you received it.

But, you can also save the font file in a folder on your computer or send to a floppy disk for the D1. It only lets us choose one size each time unlike the range of sizes in the Quick Fonts that is in the 3D Embroidery Studio program. Each letter will be a design, so you bring up each letter and place it where you want it.

I looked through my Designer SE User's guide and my handbook and I never did see any explanation on using this Quick Fonts or finding the guide to print it out. When I try to use the "help" in the program, it isn't accessible.

But, there is a Quick Fonts Stitch Guide that is available for printout and it is actually for this Quick Fonts program. You can access it by clicking on "start, programs, 3D Embroidery, Sample guides, 3D Quick Fonts stitch guide.

Quick Fonts was also part of the 3D Embroidery Studio/letter tab within the program.

The one that you access in 3D Embroidery/lettering let’s us create new stitching fonts from any true type font on the computer and add them to our "my fonts" category so we can use them just like the other ones in that program. We can set them for size ranges like 15 mm to 40mm or whatever we choose for the range.

These two programs are a bit different. Viking just didn't make it obvious that there actually are two versions.

I am one of those people that like shortcuts to the 3D programs on my desktop,. I opened the "explorer", clicked on 3D Embroidery folder and on the right side, I discovered two 3D Quick Fonts files.

One was 3D Quick Fonts. exe with QF in front of the file name and the other was 3D Quick Fonts Wizard. Exe. with a 3D Embroidery Icon in front of it.

I felt the Wizard must be the one in the lettering, so I right clicked on the other one to send it to my desktop.

So try putting that shortcut on your desktop and double clicking on it and you will see what I mean. The first thing you will notice is that the one in 3D lettering has only two boxes with letters whereas the other comes up with ABCD in 4 boxes.
