HOOP DESIGNS CONVERTED TO DESIGNER 1 DESIGNS WHEN
USING SYSTEM 5, CUSTOMIZING PLUS OR 3D EMBROIDERY
I have E Card 15 which are Plus Hoop designs and I want to convert those to one
single design to stitch out in my D1, D1, Des. SE or Platinum Plus.
So, I am going to make sub folder under my original folder that
holds these designs
and call it Card 15 Converted. I will make sure that when I save
the combined designs, I save it with the somewhat the same name but in this new
folder.

Open customizing and click on the hoop icon. If you have System 5,
click on 150 X 240 hoop size.
If you have Customizing Plus or 3D Embroidery, choose the 100 X 170 hoop size.
On the bottom of that screen, change the grid size to 35.
This will allow you to accurately place your design parts. Position
1 center point is exactly
35 mm from the P2 center point. P3 center point is exactly 35 mm from P2 center
point. So if we change the
grid size to 35, you will have one large grid ( instead of 3 ½ small grids)
above and below the center point. So, if we place the crosshair for P1 on the
intersection just above the center intersection, P2 on the center intersection
and P3 on the intersection just below center, the placement will be perfect.
HERES HOW TO DO IT:
Bring the 2 or 3 parts of your design you wish to convert to a large size on
the screen, making sure you bring them up on the screen in the proper order of
stitching. In other words, sometimes P2 is the last part of the design to be
printed out because it should land on top of P1 and P3. Look at your designs
carefully to check for this kind of problem. Most of the time, it will be P1,
P2 and the P3.
Each design has a center point that is marked by a very tiny crosshair
(+). Those crosshairs should land exactly on the intersection on
the grid either in the
very center of the grid, one square above the grid or one square below the gird,
but always exactly on the intersection line where the vertical and horizontal
lines meet. If you cannot see the crosshair, click on the zoom in icon
and place the pointer on the center of the design and the crosshair will be more
obvious. You may have to do it several times to be able to really see that +.
Click on P1 to select that design. Place your cursor exactly on
that tiny crosshair and drag it exactly to the intersection line
just above the center intersection.
In the picture below, I have placed my cursor on the crosshair on
the center green leaf and dragged it
over to the intersection that is one grid above the center intersection.

Click on P2 and place your cursor exactly on that crosshair and drag it to the
center intersection.
Then click on P3 and drag it to exactly the intersection below
the center. Click
on zoom to fit to bring the whole design back to normal.
If you look carefully on the center vertical line and the horizontal lines just
above vertical and just below vertical, you will see the crosshairs are placed
perfectly and the design is put together properly.
Click on combine to convert to one large design. Click on the save
as icon and find the folder you wish to place it in and give it a new name
relating to the old name such as E15DES8Conv
