Designer 1 converted to D1 USB

Make sure your machine is updated.

If you have 3D Embroidery, You must install the CD that came with the conversion so that you will have a new 3D Disk Manager USB program. You will NOT use the regular Disk Manager program.

If you have 4D Embroidery, the new Disk Manager is now included so you don’t need to install that disk. All of the other components on that disk are also included in 4D.

In 4D, the “disk manager” program will be accessed by clicking on “accessories” on the quick link toolbar.

Open the Disk Manager USB program.

Insert the USB stick into the USB port.

Click on "Read the stick". Reading the stick first will save the designs you had on the stick already. You can delete them if you want, but some people like to keep the ones that came with the machine. I would also put those designs on my computer.

To save those designs, create a folder on your hard drive under your “my designs”. Then read the stick and click on “multi save” and save to that folder you have created for them.

Orange memories are used. Grey memories are empty.

Click on a grey one and click on “open or view” and find the file that holds your designs and click on each one you want on that stick.

Click on “write to stick”. That memory you have put your designs into will change to orange.

It is okay to us a USB extension and some other brands of sticks will work.

The icon on the lower right side of the D1 screen will show a floppy and a stick instead of just the floppy like it showed before.
