Fonts using foreign characters
Some time you may want to type in a foreign character when using
your fonts within your program. You have a “character map” in
your computer that will show you all the letters in each font and
includes foreign symbols and letters.
Click on “start, programs, accessories, system tools, character map”.
Touch the “minimize” (minus in the upper right corner) to reduce
the program to the bottom of the screen so you can bring it up any time you
wish to look for a certain letter you may need.
Let’s say you wanted to type fiancé and you need that special “acute
e”
Bring up the character map and look for the character you want to use and click
on it.

Then click on “select” so it appears in the narrow window. Then
click on “copy” and it will be copied to your windows clipboard.
If you are using your 3D software and have your “lettering” tab
clicked and have chosen the font you want to use, type in any letters you want
and when you need the one on the clipboard, just hold down your “control
and V” key and it will automatically place that correct letter at the
end of what you already typed.

**(If you are typing up a document in your word processing, you would do the
same thing but be sure to choose the font you are using.)
When you want to create a stitching font from a true type font using Quick
Fonts and have all of those characters available to you, choose the “super
extended” selection.
