4D and Designer SE Communication problem.
Restoring Communication Between the Computer and the Designer SE.
Right click on the Designer SE icon in the lower right Accessory
tray on
the computer scene. Uncheck the "Start Automatically" feature.
Right
click again on the icon and click "Exit"
Open 4D Embroidery software and make sure that the Designer SE
is on
your "machines" list in Machine Manager.
Unplug the 4D dongle and all USB reader/writers. Insert the 4D
Embroidery installation DVD into the computer. On the menu it will
list
drivers for the XP and Vista operating systems (second from the
bottom)
and click on it. It will begin installing and a pop-up window will
appear asking for the Designer SE to now be plugged in. Continue
to
follow prompts.
When finished, computer/SE communication should be restored and
machine
registered. If not, open 4D configure and choose the Send 1 tab.
Click
on "Designer SE Communication" button and this should
establish
communication.
