SOAP AND CANDLE EMBROIDERY
Cut a piece of tulle larger than the hoop size to sew the number
of designs you want.
Rose and 1+ owners, use the plus hoop.
Cut 4 pieces of Solvy the same size as the tulle and sandwich the
tulle between two layers of Solvy on top and two under. Hoop &
stitch the designs.
Remove the design from the hoop and carefully tear away the excess
Solvy around the design a layer at a time. Then cut around the outer
edges of the design fairly close to the outline stitches.
Dip the design in a little warm water to remove the excess Solvy
and lay it between paper towels to press out the excess water. While
still wet, apply the design on the top of the soap ( or the candle)
and with the palm of your hand, mold it onto the soap. Every so
often while it is still wet, press your hand over it again and let
it dry.
Once it is dry, you can use Hodge Podge over the top if you want
it to be permanent or use Parfin.
TOILET PAPER
Leave about 4 sheet before the one you will embroider on. Now, unroll
the paper at least 6 sheets long so you won't accidentally tear
the sheet off while embroidering.
Hoop a piece of Cut Away larger than the hoop and hoop it up all
by itself. Lay a ruler over the top of the hoop to draw a line both
horizontally and vertically on the hoop marks.
Spray the stabilizer with embroidery adhesive.
Using your embroidery template, lay it on top of the printed out
design and trace the outline of the design.
Lay the template on top of the toilet paper sheet and make sure
the square grid is centered on the sheet. Using a pencil, place
a dot in the center hole and also a dot on the very outer part of
the slots on the template so that these dots won't be obvious when
we embroider the design on the paper.
TIP: I like to place the hoop on the embroidery unit and
slide the toilet paper sheet with the markings under the foot so
that when you manuall turn the hand wheel to lower the needles,
it will go directly into the dot. That keeps the center stable while
you align the other markings on the paper with the markings on the
stabilizer. Smooth the toilet paper so it will adhere to the sprayed
stabilizer. DO NOT BASTE.
When completed, remove the hoop. Cut the stabilizer even with the
edges of the toilet paper sheet. Then I fold under the first two
sheets and then fold them to form a point and I wrap that around
the toilet paper to the back and secure with a straight pin.
I like to cut a large square of tulle and sit the toilet paper
roll in the middle and pull the tulle up around the roll and tie
it with a ribbon to match the color in the design.
HAND TOWELS
Make template markings on top of the towel where you wish to place
your design. Cut 2 sheets of Solvy larger than the hoop. Lay one
piece on top of the marked area and one underneath and hoop the
towel trying to keep the Solvy smooth. If you slightly moisten the
corners of the top "Solvy" it will stick to the towel
Embroider the design and then remove the excess stabilizer. If I
give this as a gift, I just try to use tweezers to remove the excess
in the design. I let them wash it later.

I like to purchase a nice wicker basket and put a pretty piece
of cloth in the bottom with rolled edges and place the towels, soap,
etc in the basket. You can wrap in tulle and tie it with a ribbon
or use tissue paper.
