Framed Roses Runner

You will find the Framed Roses design on my website under "endless designs".

I cut my fabric 15" wide from selvage to selvage. This gave me extra at each end to make sure it fit inside the endless hoop.

I drew a horizontal starting line with my water soluble pen 4" from one selvage end. This line is important because I did the embroidery on both long sides and I wanted them to start at the same place.

I set my endless hoop guide two notches from the left so it was just enough to hold the right edge of the fabric under the inner hoop and the designs would land the correct distance from the right edge of the fabric.

I brought up my design and I made sure that I touched the "stitch advance" button so the needle would be in the position to stitch the first left side alignment stitch. We want that lower left side of the stitch to start right on that drawn line.

The finished runner with the lace is 41" X 15". This size took 6 hoopings on each side.

You can make 5 hoopings on each side and it will be about 7" shorter.

I did the first side, then when I wanted to do the other side, I turned the design upside down and turned the fabric upside down too so the other raw edge would be against the guide on the hoop.

Now, because we turned the design upside down and the fabric upside down, this means the design will start at the lower edge instead of at the top. So, instead of pulling the material behind the foot when one set is finished, you will be pulling it toward you to align your beginning alignment stitches with the ending alignment stitches.

There is something you need to think about with these stitches. When the X alignment stitches start on the top, the lower left side of the X stitches first.

BUT, when you turn it upside down, the upper left stitch stitches first.

This means when you do the second side, you must make sure that your needle for the first placement stitch will be slightly above the drawn line you made. The bottom stitch of the X must be right on the line.
