HATCHED IN AFRICA TO THE RESCUE

Close-Up
A friend took a class that was supposed to be for
creating an heirloom lace tablecloth. The participants brought a
45" square of fabric and placed lace in the center square and then
sewed it down with a bridging stitch. Then they serged the edges.
That was it.
The ladies who attended the class were really upset
because they thought they were going to have a nice heirloom tablecloth.
My friend was going to throw it out. I told her that she could save
it just by adding some designs and lace. She handed it to me and
said that she had no desire to do that. So, I cut the fabric from
under the lace to make it look prettier and then used Hatched in
Africa's "Apricot Blush" designs. I trimmed the serged edges away
and added cotton lace with an heirloom stitch and did a border around
the inside with omnigram stitches. I love it!
